The plaque to the restoration of the Kartal İstimbot
The restoration of the 107-year-old Kartal Steamboat, which Atatürk was given on its deck the first sign of the Turkish War of Independence by the words “As they have come, so they will go”, is completed. From now on the ship will be used as a museum.
The historic steamboat was found last year when it was about to sink, and the restoration lasted a year. It was delivered to the Naval Forces of Command with a ceremony held at the Çiçek Shipyard today. Asuman Özer, Chairman of the Board and Ahmet Kurap, our Operation Director, received a plaque of appreciation on behalf of our shipyard due to our contributions to the restoration.
We are proud to have taken part in this significant project as Hidrodinamik Shipyard. We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their contributions during the project.
