One of the oldest shipyards of Turkey, Hidrodinamik Shipyard organized a series of events as a part of Occupational Health and safety Week with ‘A Detail Makes Difference, A Difference Saves a Life.’ slogan.
Cengiz Kasap, General Manager of Hidrodinamik Shipyard where a global service is given for ship building, repair and maintenance and conversion said that; ‘We place importance to use personal protector equipment’s in order to decrease accidents and physical injuries that can be occurred at the shipyard. We also pay attention to give trainings of working in a safety field and to make health checks of our employees. He added that; ‘To work in a healthy and a safe field is one of the most basic right of our employees. Nowadays, one of the most important development indicators of the industrial establishments’ is to enable these safe working fields. We are striving to create high ‘Hidrodinamik Standards’ for the health and safe of our employees in all business processes. In work security a small detail saves a life. With a slogan ‘One detail makes difference, a difference saves life’ we are aware of our responsibilities about applying and constantly improving the quality, environment and work health and safe. At our shipyard on 9 and 10th of May in order to draw attention about health and safety at work again we organized Work Healthy and Safety Week event with our employees. For three days we got notification at the most central point of our field from our employees. With A class firefighting drill, first aid trainings and drills we remembered what to do in potential dangers.’’
Cengiz Kasap drawed attention that the number of labor accidents at heavy industries are more than the other industries. He added that; whether it is not possible to take away all the risks with the measure taken, it is possible to reduce minimum. In our country every year between 4 and 10 May we celebrate Occupational Safe and Health Week since 1987. With law of Work Health and Safe in 2012, they encumbered the employer in order to enable the work health and safe of the employees. It was obligated to make movements in order to avoid occupational risks. The employers are liable at taking the necessary measures for the workers in the life threating and specific fields after giving adequate information’s and instructions. If not so, for the employers who do not omit these obligations, administrative fines and work stoppages were put into place.
